Abstract:	This article concerns a course of expansion of the semantics for MegrelLaz words referring a counting process. Namely Megrel word „Tvalua“ and Laz„Okorocxu / korocxala“, in addition to their riginal/initial meanings, denote “Mourn, lament ”. The reasons for this should be explored in traditions. The considered terms belong to a discipline of ethno-linguistics. В статье рассматривается процесс семантичесского расширения мегрельско-лазских слов, обозначающих счет, а именно, мегрельское слово თვალუა и лазское слово ოკოროცხუ / კოროცხალა “считать” наряду со своим основным значением обозначает “плач, траурный плач, крики”. Причины этого явления надо искать в традициях. Рассмотренный термин относится к этно-лингвистической сфере.
